- Dig holes slightly wider than FootingPad
- Level and compact soil at bottom of hole
- Place FootingPad in hole, smooth side down
- Place precast deck post on center of FootingPad
- Backfill around post using original soil
- Compact the soil every 12 inches as you backfill
