Installation
Perma-Columns set in augered holes the same way wood posts do. No concrete truck is needed and there is no cure time before framing. Use the same footing your plans call for under a wood column.
Options for wind and depth
- Uplift anchors bolt to the base of the column. Use them on open-front sheds and beside large door openings.
- Column extenders attach to the base when your design needs more embedment than the standard column. Concrete poured around the extender forms a combined footing and uplift anchor.

INSTALLATION
Perma-Columns set in augered holes the same way wood posts do. No concrete truck is needed and there is no cure time before framing. Use the same footing your plans call for under a wood column.
In stalls and wash bays, place a barrier between the treated wood and the steel bracket and use stainless steel fasteners.
Options for wind and depth
- Uplift anchors bolt to the base of the column. Use them on open-front sheds and beside large door openings.
- Column extenders attach to the base when your design needs more embedment than the standard column. Concrete poured around the extender forms a combined footing and uplift anchor.
Common Questions
Do I need a different footing? No. Use the same type and size of footing you would use under a wood column.
How heavy are the columns? 165 to 345 pounds each, depending on the model. Most crews set them with a skid steer or loader.
Can I pour a floor later? Yes. The slab pours against the concrete columns.
Will it work with my builder's shed package? Yes. Give your builder the model that matches the column size on your plans.
Are design files available? Yes. DWG files and a design guide with calculations are free to download for your engineer.
Can it repair an older shed? Yes. Rotted posts can be cut off and set on new precast columns.
