Installation
Auger the holes, place the footing your plans call for, set the columns, and backfill. There is no concrete truck for the posts and no cure time before framing. On a long storage building with many posts, crews can set every column in one pass.
Options for open-sided buildings
- Uplift anchors bolt to the base of the column to resist wind uplift.
- Column extenders attach to the base when the design needs more embedment than the standard column.

Common Questions
Does it work for a single RV cover at home? Yes. The same columns work for one bay or a full storage facility.
Does it work for enclosed units too? Yes. The building frames up like any post-frame structure.
Do I need a different footing? No. Use the same type and size of footing you would use under a wood post.
How heavy are the columns? 165 to 345 pounds each, depending on the model.
I am building on an existing slab or parking pad. What do I use? Sturdi-Wall® brackets anchor wood posts to the top of existing concrete. We carry those too.
Is it code approved for commercial storage? Yes. Perma-Column complies with the IBC and IRC under ICC-ES report ESR-4238.
