Why it matters for a shop or garage

Most shops and garages get a slab, insulation, wiring, and finished walls. After that, the posts are sealed in. If a buried wood post rots, the repair means cutting concrete and tearing out walls. Concrete in the ground avoids that.

Common Questions

Can I install these myself? Yes. They set the same way wood posts do. You need a way to lift 165 to 345 pounds per column.

My slab is already poured. What do I use? Sturdi-Wall® brackets anchor wood posts to the top of existing concrete. We carry those too.

Do I need a different footing? No. Use the same footing you would use under a wood post.

What if my frost line is deep? Column extenders add embedment depth.

Can it fix a rotted post in my existing shop? Yes. Rotted posts can be cut off and set on new precast columns.

What about high wind areas? Uplift anchors bolt to the base of the column.
