Installation
Perma-Columns set in augered holes with standard post-frame methods. You do not need a concrete truck for the posts, and crews do not wait on concrete to cure. Use the same footing your plans specify under a wood column.
Setup for wet barns
- Place a barrier between the treated wood column and the steel bracket.
- Use stainless steel fasteners in the bracket and on splash boards.

Common Questions
Can I replace rotted posts in a barn that is in use? Yes. Rotted posts can be cut off and set on new precast columns one after another, with no wait for concrete between posts.
What about open-sided buildings in high wind? Uplift anchors bolt to the base of the column for added holding strength.
Is any treated wood buried? No. The columns are made from recycled materials and contain no toxic chemicals, so nothing leaches into your soil.
Are the columns code approved? Yes. They are ICC-ES certified under report ESR-4238.
How heavy are the columns? 165 to 345 pounds each, depending on the model. Most crews set them with a skid steer or loader.
Do the brackets fit glue-laminated columns? Yes. They accept solid posts, nail-laminated columns, and glue-laminated columns.
